PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Analyst Car Accounting will be responsible for the precise and prompt management of all tasks related to car hire, such as processing payments, handling receipts, managing claims and reclaims. This role involves analyzing trends in car hire, producing key performance indicators, conducting audits, implementing internal controls, and aiding in the month-end closing process.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Conduct trend analyses and manage all aspects of car hire transactions (payments, receipts, claims, and reclaims)
  • Ensure accurate audits and prompt issue resolution through collaboration with stakeholders
  • Responsible for month-end procedures, such as variance analysis and journal entries
  • Deliver in-depth reports to senior management, and maintain strict compliance with SOX and internal controls to safeguard CPKC\'s financial accuracy
  • Document and improve processes, and ensure the execution of car hire controls
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-secondary degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting financial reviews, journal entries, and month-end closings
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency and capabilities in influencing others
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; an asset
