Analyst 1 Equine

in 4606 Canada Way, Burnaby, B.C. V5G 1K5 CAN. Your mission will be to:




Position Summary




This position is responsible for performing sample analysis in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) and health and safety policies.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities



Perform sample preparation (login and aliquoting) according to SOP and WI Perform sample analysis (sample extraction, batch loading and data processing) using documented test methods Perform with the maintenance and running of the ELISA, UHPLC/HRMS, LC/MS/MS and HPLC instruments, as required Meet quality specifications defined by the laboratory to meet client and lab accreditation requirements Communicate with senior staff for daily workload to accommodate due dates Ensure that instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained Investigate problems, take remedial action as required and identify actions to prevent recurrence; maintain records. Participate in developing SOP's and general work instructions Identify, communicate and record non-conformances to Supervisor/Manager Adhere to Code of Ethics Policy Support and comply with all the policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program Participate, when requested in lab and health and safety meetings Participate, when requested in internal and external audits Keep work area clean, neat and organized Maintain training records and relevant qualifications Other related duties as assigned. At any time, the incumbent must behave and operate in an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.

YOUR PROFILE






Qualifications Required



B.Sc. Degree in a chemical science or equivalent from a recognized academic institution and a minimum of 1 years of laboratory experience, preferably related to drug analysis Obtaining the Security Screening Certificate and Briefing Form at the Protected B Reliability Status is MANDATORY Working knowledge of the operation of analytical instruments including HPLC, LC/MS/MS and LC/HRMS Experience with instrument software packages such as Agilent Chemstation, Sciex OS, Thermo Fisher Xcalibur and TraceFinder, and Waters MassLynx Understanding of Forensic Principles including chain of custody Knowledge of Quality Assurance Principles and Quality Control Procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment



Regularly required to stand, walk, and handle chemicals and laboratory equipment. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must have fine motor skills for precise measurements and handling of chemicals. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception. High level of work production in fast paced lab environment May require flexible workings hours, overtime and shift work May involve periods of standing Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE Some lifting and carrying and repetitive task

Travel



Minimal travel

is required, primarily for industry conferences or collaborative research meetings.

Compensation Package Overview:

Compensation Range $24.90 - $26.50/ hourly CAD
