Job Summary:

Semtech is looking for a student who is looking to make a real difference. We are looking for a curious minded, energetic student to join the team for a 16-month internship to help with the design, development, verification, and characterization of analog circuits for use in SIPG\'s Transport and data communications products.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design, development, verification, and characterization of analog circuits for use in SIPG\'s Transport and data communications products.
  • Work on circuits such as PLLs, Equalizers, Cable Drivers, Serializers and Deserializers, and other key circuit building blocks. The process technologies used for these circuits include both CMOS (down to 40nm feature sizes) and high speed BiCMOS.
  • Use the Cadence Analog Design Environment for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks.
  • The student will work in a team environment with access to Senior Design Engineers in order to provide mentoring and guidance throughout their internship term.


Education:
  • Minimum 3rd year of a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering


Experience:
  • As this is an internship position for students, it is not expected that they have previous job experience related to the position.


Skills:
  • Good understanding of electronic circuit fundamentals-exposure to transistor level circuit design/analysis is an asset.
  • Exposure to CAD circuit design tools (schematic capture, etc.) is an asset.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.
