We are accepting applications for the following permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position at Howick Central Public School, in Gorrie, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

The Basic Custodian duties may include:


Building Maintenance

change lights shovel snow operate snow blower clean and inspect roof operate grass cutting equipment perform minor repairs conduct health and safety checks service roof top unit

Building Cleaningoperate and maintain all equipment perform all minor and major cleaning

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; mechanical aptitude with experience in 1 or more of the trade disciplines e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry; exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills; the ability to use a computer; experience in handling machinery i.e., buffing machine, lawn mowers, snowblowers; knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies; and, satisfactory attendance will be a consideration when awarding this position.

Compensation Package Details:

Rate of pay:

$26.10 - $26.59 per hourin accordance with the Basic Custodial grid, as outlined in the UNIFOR Collective Agreement.

Start Date:

Immediately

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week, with a minimum lunch break for a total of 8.5 hours per day, 12 months per year, shift work may be involved.
