Job Description

The Manager of the Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Heath oversees the planning, organizing and directing of a full scope of provincial and local services in these areas to patients and their families. This Manager maintains a high standard of care through the appropriate use of human, fiscal, and material resources. The Manager demonstrates a commitment to excellence in these area as well as the development and growth in inter-disciplinary staff and the provision of comprehensive and appropriate services.

Duties include:



Provides leadership, direction, supervision to the ongoing operations of this portfolio service areas Facilitation of an effective team environment Promotes staff engagement in the workplace Coordinates Quality Improvement/Risk Management programs for the Ambulatory/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Services Personal growth for effective coach/mentoring of staff Professional development Assuming a leadership role for all processes and functions pertaining to the services encompassed within Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Heath Performing ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of new and existing services within the Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Heath Performing research on various clinical practice models, emerging technologies, best practices, and identifying appropriate measurement tools for each service; and then communicating and implementing these strategies/information into practice. Assuming a leadership role for processes pertaining to strategic planning, quality and risk management, and optimal utilization. Ensuring that equipment requirements are met for each service resulting in a comprehensive and technologically advanced Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Heath Providing supervisory responsibilities for the day-to-day management of services included in the Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Health, by maintaining appropriate numbers of staff, reviewing workflows, patient assignments and schedules, and authorizing relief personnel as required. Maintaining accountability for all Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Rehab/Allied Heath budgetary responsibilities; Providing safe, quality patient care by incorporating the principles of senior and family-centered care into all aspects of the role; Promoting and supporting continual learning, and assisting staff in achieving personal/professional development and clinical competencies; Promoting professional development by applying professional standards and codes of conduct. Attending and participating in continuing educational programs to maintain a high level of expertise in the following: clinical practice, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as management, leadership and team building; Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:



Must have a Bachelor's degree in health-related sciences Must have extensive related experience (5+ years) working in an acute care hospital, including considerable clinical and management experience with financial and human resources management responsibilities Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered. Recognized program of study in departmental management or equivalent would be an asset Must have demonstrated organizational skills and experience in leadership, program planning, redesign and implementation, decision making, problem solving, team building and teamwork. Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal Experience practicing as a health care professional in acute care hospital would be an asset Diploma or certificate in leadership, management or quality improvement would be an asset

Salary Range:

$45.49 - $54.58 per hour (Level 22 - Excluded)

Bi-Weekly Hours:

75.0 Hours Bi-Weekly / Days / Monday to Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. / Some Evening / Weekend Work May Be Required.
