We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres.
Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and meet deadlines.
Load and unload goods, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
Communicate clearly with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery confirmations and any discrepancies.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including stock organisation and inventory checks.
Skills
Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
Valid driver's licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car or lorry).
Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
Experience with commercial driving and knowledge of road safety regulations.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when required, often involving bulky or heavy items.
Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Organised with good time management skills to adhere to schedules efficiently.
