Leading the fundraising and alumni relations activities for University of Toronto Scarborough, the Development & Alumni Relations Office (DARO) supports the campus and over 50,000 alumni. Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the Director, Alumni Relations, the incumbent co-ordinates and executes a variety of functions and key events to enhance alumni affinity to UTSC. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for a number of programs, events and initiatives for an alumni base of 64,000+, including divisional outreach, alumni association activities, Alumni Reunion, various UTSC alumni events, and coordination of UTSC regional events.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering positive relationships with alumni
  • Promoting alumni engagement opportunities to academic units, graduating students, industry partners and alumni
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities and overseeing tasks related to the production and dissemination of communications/marketing materials
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition and updating prospect databases and portfolios
  • Canvassing alumni groups and volunteers to obtain potential speakers, mentors and new alumni volunteers
  • Writing summary reports on programs and services
  • Keeping well-informed on industry best practices and trends
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four years\' related experience in alumni relations.
  • Demonstrated experience with event coordination, working on both small and large-scale events from conception to execution.
  • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relation to alumni event promotion or involvement.
  • Excellent (oral and written) communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet development, desktop publishing, database management, and website management.
  • Ability to manage and motivate external volunteers; establish rapport with sponsors, volunteers, donors, faculty, and staff.
  • Experience working with Arbor or a similar database management system.
  • Must have financial planning, budgeting, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines; and exercise accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience and advanced literacy with design related software.
