A well-established metal fabricating company in Burnaby near Royal Oak station, specializing in Glass Guard rails and Handrails for new building construction, is looking for a Saw Operator and Pipe Bender Operator to join our team.

This is a full time and can be a rewarding position.

We need you to have good communication skills for interaction with others.

The Saw Operator will be responsible for operating a saw and other equipment to cut aluminum extrusion for components and prepare it for processing.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating saws and other equipment and will be able to calculate the measurement.

Must have a good math, able to do some calculation and a mechanically incline.

The goal is to cut materials for the work that we have for the fabricator as per our measurement and prebend our handrails section for fabrication using pipe bender machine.

Responsibilities

Operate saws, pipe bender according to specifications Ensure that the work area is free from hazards Check machines or equipment to ensure that it has been repaired or cleaned and that it is in good working order Move materials around by hand or by using hand tools Keep records of material used, quantities processed. Communicate with supervisors and coworkers about problems or needs (e.g. problems with machines, shortages of material etc.) Report on maintenance or repairs of equipment or materials (e.g. broken parts)

Education & Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent with strong mechanical and mathematic as required.
1-2 years of saw operation/ shop fabrication experience will be beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
