AltaGas Plant Operator (Joffre Ethane Extraction Plant)AltaGas is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, safety-conscious, and motivated Plant Operator to join our Joffre Ethane Extraction Plant (JEEP) team!The successful candidate will work 10 hours per day, 4 days per week (40 hours per week). This may progress to 12 hours per day, 4 days per week (42 hours per week).You Will:Maintain the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations of all JEEP equipment and connecting pipelinesEnsure that all work activities on site comply with all AltaGas guidelines, EOH&S, codes of practice, and other policiesTroubleshoot process equipment.Participate in pre-job and work permitting processes regarding non-routine or high-risk tasks to ensure all hazards are assessed, mitigated, and communicated between all partiesPrepare equipment for maintenance following all process and safety procedures which include lock out / tag out, personal protective equipment, confined space entry, and all environmental performance standardsWork with the Senior Operators to continually improve site-specific training, process safety management, and special projectsRespond effectively during unit upsets, adverse conditions, or serious situations.Report and record any health, safety, security, environmental, or EOH&S management system incidents, concerns/near misses, and non-conformances.Assist the maintenance department with general maintenance if required.Enter Work Order requests for equipment repairs in the Maximo system and close out work orders.You Have:Valid ABSA 4th or 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.3+ years of process plant operations experience, preferably in a gas plant with liquids extraction or NGL fractionation facility.DCS or Control panel experience would be considered an assetExperience using Maximo is preferred.Ability to read and interpret operating manuals, Plant P&IDsUnderstand environmental impacts, health, safety, and security risks.Excellent written and oral communication skills.A strong commitment to maintaining and promoting safe operations.Where You'll Work:Located in Joffre, Alberta, the Joffre Ethane Extraction Plant (JEEP) is 100 percent owned and operated by AltaGas. The facility has a processing capacity of 250 Mmcf/d of natural gas and is capable of producing up to 10,400 Bbls/d of ethane and natural gas liquids.
