ALS -Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Temporary Full Time Day Shift

St. Clair O'Connor Community Inc. is a non-profit partnership between the broader community and Danforth Mennonite and Toronto United Mennonite Churches providing a range of accommodations and a continuum of care, a variety of life-affirming activities and programs for seniors in the surrounding neighborhoods. SCOC seeks to be a caring, intergenerational community, which nurtures the health and well-being of its residents.

SCOC is presently accepting applications for a Registered Practical Nurse Temporary Full Time Day Shift to work in our Assisted Living Community. This includes working every other weekend.

Reporting to the Director of Long-Term Care Services, the Registered Practical Nurse will be responsible for the provision and supervision of resident care, medication administration, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and SCOC Wellness standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:



To practice the Philosophy of St. Clair O'Connor Community Inc.

To maintain the regulations of the Assisted Living Service Program and other legislative bodies.

To ensure the resident's needs are met daily.

To provide nursing care according to policies and procedures.

To assist in maintaining a physical psycho-social, and spiritual environment conducive to meeting residents' needs in IL/Assisted Living Community.

To supervise the care provided by Personal Support Workers in IL/ALS Community.

To deal tactfully and courteously with residents, families, staff and visitors.

To take an active role in own professional growth and development.

To assist with nursing research when necessary.

Provide Continuous assessment of residents as required.

Assists with staff education as assigned.

Complete and ensure residents' care assessments, care plans and documentation are up to date, and changes communicated to the Director of Long-Term Care Services.

Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Must be knowledgeable with Point-Click Care software and documentation process

To Assist with the ongoing implementation of PCC.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Must hold current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario

Must hold a Certificate of Drug Administration as approved by the College of Nurses

Must be on good physical and mental Health

Must be knowledgeable with Point-Click-Care documentation process.
