About Our Opportunity
The Disability Support Program (DSP) delivers specialized, evidence-based allied health services to help Nova Scotians with disabilities live meaningful lives in the community of their choice. As part of our commitment to the Human Rights Remedy, we are building a new model of community-based support that prioritizes dignity, independence, and inclusion
The Clinical Coordinator plays a key role in this transformation. Under the oversight of the Allied Health Supports Manager, you will oversee regional Disability Support Outreach Teams made up of dedicated allied health professionals (at multiple Service Provider Organizations funded by DSP), ensuring participants and families have the supports they need to enhance functional capacity and social participation. This is a unique opportunity to foster strong community partnerships and shape how disability supports are delivered in Nova Scotia.
Primary Accountabilities
In this role, you will focus on empowering allied health teams, ensuring high-quality and timely support for participants, and building strong connections across communities, service providers, and government partners. Under the direction of the Allied Health Supports Manager key responsibilities include:

• Providing operational and clinical practice support and leadership to regional multidisciplinary allied health teams.
• Ensuring alignment with DSP policies, clinical practice standards, and the vision set out in the Human Rights Remedy.
• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with individuals, families, communities, service providers, and government partners.
• Monitoring and evaluating team performance, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and managing risk.
• Supporting Service Providers in their process of recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of allied health staff.
• Facilitating team meetings, peer consultations, and case conferences to address complex participant needs.
• Connecting participants to appropriate allied health supports and coordinating services to help individuals live successfully in their chosen community.
• Promoting a respectful, inclusive, strengths-based workplace culture.

Qualifications and Experience
Currently registered, or eligible for registration, with the applicable provincial regulatory association (e.g., social worker, speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, psychologist, dietitian) along with at least six (6) years of related experience in allied health or disability support services. A valid drivers license and ability to travel is required
You will also bring:

• Expertise in evidence-based allied health practices and a deep understanding of disability support in community settings
• Knowledge of Nova Scotia's health and social services systems.
• Proven ability to lead, in collaboration with others, multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative, person-centred environment.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, particularly in complex or sensitive situations.
• Experience with program evaluation, risk management, and quality improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Assets include:

• Experience working within a human rights-based or person-directed service delivery framework.
• Knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and its application in service delivery.
• Experience in change management and leading teams through system transformation.

Working Conditions
Your typical work week is 35 hours weekly. You are primarily office-based with regular travel within the assigned region. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet program or participant needs. This role involves working closely with individuals with disabilities, their families, service providers, and community organizations, requiring a high level of professionalism, empathy, and adaptability.

This position requires you to have a valid drivers, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to travel frequently.
Your worksite location is Flexible. OSD has offices across the Province which you can view . We will discuss the worksite location with the successful candidate at the offer negotiation stage.
Two (2) TERM opportunities are available each with an anticipated end date of August 20, 2027. The appointment status ('term', 'temporary' or 'casual') is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade: PR 15
Salary Range: $2,760.42 - $3,364.90 Bi-Weekly
