: Under the direction of the ALC Director, the ALC Teacher plans and implements Physics course programming (Physics 40s) for adult learners. The role includes, designing and facilitating web-based and independent-study options.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Administration:
Prepare instructional resources for
Physics 40S courses
; develop course outlines; maintain accurate student records and prepare reports on student performance and program activities.
Instruction:
Teach course content across multiple subjects; adapt teaching methods to students' strengths and weaknesses; and emphasize practical skills.
Student Evaluation:
Evaluating students to determine progress and provide feedback using hand-in assignments, projects, and modular tests.
Communication & Documentation:
Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students; maintain accurate records; and prepare required reports.
Assess & Support Learning:
Provide guidance and counselling to students with academic or personal challenges; observe students to identify their abilities, limitations and interests; review instructional content and student evaluations to improve courses; establish and enforce a Student Code of Conduct; encourage students to pursue further learning opportunities; and identify developmental needs, coaching students to improve their skills.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Bachelor of Education degree with a Manitoba permanent professional teaching certificate.
Specialization or demonstrated experience teaching
Physics
at the secondary or adult education level.
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint and Outlook); ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced
environment; respect for Red River Metis culture; strong interpersonal
and communication skills; positive attitude and problem-solving ability; attention to
detail and strong organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and use correct
English grammar and punctuation;

Valid criminal records and child abuse registry checks.
Comfortable working primarily in online environment.
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $36.32 per hour
