Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. You must be an Alberta Registered Massage Therapist with a minimum 2200 hour diploma. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various massage techniques and be dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. This role involves assessing clients' needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic massages to promote relaxation and overall well-being.

Duties

Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their health history, preferences, and specific areas of concern. Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports massage, Hot Stones, Myofascial cupping and more based on client needs. Maintain accurate records of client treatments and progress while ensuring confidentiality. Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and recommend follow-up treatments or self-care practices. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards and maintaining equipment. Communicate effectively with clients to ensure their comfort throughout the session and address any concerns they may have. Stay updated on industry trends and advances in massage therapy techniques.

Qualifications

Valid Alberta registered massage therapist with 2200 hour diploma, massage association and City of Edmonton Advanced Health Practitioners license as well as malpractice insurance. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred to better understand client health issues. Previous experience in a spa or wellness center is a plus with 2 or more years of experience. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed. A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in the field of massage therapy.
