We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to install, maintain, and repair security and Fire alarm systems for commercial and residential clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, including electrical experience, blueprint reading, and proficiency with various tools and systems. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that enhance safety and security for our clients while utilizing a broad range of technical skills. C.C.Q card holder is preferred but can be obtained during employment.
Duties
Install, troubleshoot, and service Burglar & Fire alarm systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, , and telecommunication equipment.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system setup.
Configure and test low voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform installations and repairs efficiently.
Perform system upgrades or modifications based on client needs or system requirements.
Conduct system diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including system configurations and service reports.
Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure seamless integration of alarm systems.
Requirements
Proven experience with electrical systems, CCTV installation, computer hardware, and computer networking.
Strong knowledge of schematics, blueprints, construction practices, and mechanical systems related to alarm installations.
Familiarity with low voltage wiring, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), telecommunication infrastructure, power tools, hand tools, and other relevant equipment.
Ability to read technical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting physical components of alarm systems.
Experience working with security protocols such as IDS or other security detection systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid driver's license preferred; willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
