Career Opportunity and Primary Roles / Responsibilities We are currently seeking a Senior Airworthiness and Certification Engineer for a new, exciting Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) project who will lead the efforts to obtain type authorization of the system in Europe. The candidate must be comfortable working in a matrix in an international team and must have previous experience managing complex projects or programs. Interfacing with customers and other team members the candidate must be able to work independently. Excellent communication skills will be required.

• Prepare and agree with the National Aviation Authorities (NAAs) the UAS Certification Basis
  
• Prepare and agree with the NAAs the UAS Means of Compliance
  
• With the support of subject matter experts:
  • Prepare the General Compliance Plan for the UAS
  • Deliver the artifacts consistent with the Compliance Plan & Means of Compliance
• Contribute with the Airworthiness key deliverables in the system readiness review cycles.

Required competencies:
At least 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with:

• Aircraft Type Investigation Process with EASA, TCCA or FAA
  
• Certification of Complex Systems
  
• Working knowledge of FAR23/FAR25, CS23/CS25, CAR523/525
  
• UAS or light aircraft design, safety analysis and/or certification
  
• Functional safety, systems safety, and design assurance processes (e.g., SAE ARP 4754A/4671, DO-160/178/254, 1309 design analysis)
  
• Capture of Safety Requirements

Miscellaneous Requirements

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English
• Occasional travel will be required
