As a member of Serco\xe2\x80\x99s dynamic team, your expertise and collaborative skills will make a positive impact towards our military defense and safety of our soldiers.15 Wing, headquartered in Moose Jaw, is the centre of RCAF aircrew training and is comprised of 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (CFFTS) and 431 Air Demonstration Squadron (CF Snowbirds) both located in Moose Jaw, SK. The Wing is the principal site of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC). 15 Wing is responsible for three different aircraft platforms that include: CT-156 Harvard II, CT-155 Hawk, CT-114 Tutor, and any visiting aircraft.You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient Air Traffic Management System maintenance, Aeronautical information services and VFR air traffic services to DND\'s NFTC program. Industry Excellence Recognition Award for Gender and Diversity Excellence.SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of assigned AES equipment, such as radar, precision approach radar, instrument landing systems, Tactical Navigational System, VHF/UHF AM radios, Meteorological Instruments etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all Serco Canada Inc. policies and procedures, including but not limited to Code of Conduct and Ethics, Serco Management System, PDR\xe2\x80\x99s, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all equipment, renovations and installations conform to DND requirements as specified in contract statements of work, work requests and directives. This includes work by contractors, DND civilian employees and military personnel.
  • Technical advisor for assigned AES equipment performing inspections, analyses, and reports.
  • Setup and operate all specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyse the performance of electronic equipment.
  • Assist in the performance of in-service support functions and participate in studies of related equipment, maintenance schedules, future requirements, sources of equipment failures and system safety.
  • Participate with DND personnel, civilian employees, and contractors regarding equipment installation, operation, and maintenance, including computer hardware and software, support equipment and the collection of data.
  • Investigate unusual maintenance problems and keep the AES Supervisor aware of any change in equipment serviceability status.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance training as required.
  • Keep track of spare parts and identify shortages to Supervisor.
  • Identify equipment performance problem areas and inform Supervisor.
  • Become knowledgeable on all Serco maintained airfield systems.
  • Be familiar with and knowledgeable on the proper use of all personal protection equipment.
  • Ensure all test equipment being utilized is calibrated.
  • Perform tasks of duty technician as required.
  • Assist in inspection, testing, adjusting and evaluation of all Airfield equipment.
  • Participate in all Airfield projects as directed.
  • Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.
  • Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.
  • Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operations including occupational health and safety, environmental, drug and alcohol, and quality.
QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS:
  • College diploma or equivalent training and experience in Electronics Technology.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 SK Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability Level security clearance is required.
  • Ability to obtain a passport for travel to USA or other international destinations is required.
KNOWLEDGE and EXPERENCE
  • Minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with Airfield Telecommunications, Radar, Navigational Aids, and Meteorological Systems desired.

  • Ability to attend and pass a Tower Climbing and Rescue course.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Mental: Activities are moderate intensity at more than 4 hrs/day or high intensity at 2-4 hrs/day
  • Physical: Activities are moderate intensity, 2-4 hrs/day.
