Job Summary:
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of aircraft parts and components.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Carry out repair and maintenance on aircraft parts and components such as aircraft batteries, wheels, leading edges, engines, propellers, auxiliary power units and commissary equipment.
Perform maintenance under the supervision of the Shop Lead ACA to the level required to obtain a Shop Certification Authority (SCA)
Complete and certify repair orders
Ensure that all documentation used for the repair of parts/components are to the latest amendment (aircraft batteries, tires and wheels)
Ensure safety rules, regulations and precautions are being observed by all employees
Ensure the shop is tidy at the end of the shift
Maintain shop equipment/tools in good working condition
Assist in "on the job" training for new employees and apprentices
Maintain yourself up to date with technical information required by the shop
Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
Attend training as mandated by the company
Assist in AOG line maintenance
Other duties as assigned
