Position Summary:

The Aircraft Assembly Technician - Structures will be responsible for assembly of sheet metal parts and components to create sub-assemblies or finished products adhering to strict quality aerospace industry standards, adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform structural repairs/major mods installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Structures Technician in a manufacturing production environment. Basic knowledge of standard practices and structures systems, accurately interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents, manufacturer's installation manuals. Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems i.e. hydraulic, flight controls and major components. Complete structural repairs/major mods in accordance with drawings. Repair, fabricate parts and components; fabricate per drawings and standard practices. Perform system checks and inspections to ensure structures systems are in compliance with industry and safety standards. Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment. Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions. Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft. Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work. Properly utilize Structures test equipment to perform systems tests. Properly utilize and maintain Structures hand tools to perform installations and repairs. Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e. Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required.

Education & Experience:

Current AME "S" Transport Canada license is an asset but not required. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet. Good oral and written communication skills. Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada products is considered an asset. Possess knowledge expected of an Aircraft Structure Technician on aircraft types handled by the Company.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights. Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs. Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). Flexibility to change shifts is required.
