Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Council's (SRC) Research and Technology - Lab Services Division has an opening for an Air Quality Technologist. This position will participate in stack sampling, ambient monitoring and indoor air sampling programs.
Accountabilities
Participate in stack sampling field projects and indoor air sampling
Operate and maintain stack sampling equipment and gas analyzers, including equipment calibration, repair and cleaning
Load and unload equipment and prepare solutions for upcoming field jobs
Prepare samples for analysis and input data collected during field work
Participate in report preparation for clients using Microsoft Word, Excel and other software
Qualifications
A Chemical Technology or Environmental Engineering Technology diploma are preferred; however, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Valid Class 5 driver's licence and comfortable with long-distance highway driving; trailering experience is an asset
Skills
Demonstrated understanding of field and lab safety practices and chemical analysis equipment operation are assets
Experience working in an industrial setting, particularly conducting stack sampling, is an asset
Mechanical aptitude and experience in general equipment repair and maintenance are assets
Experience using Microsoft Office
Team player with effective interpersonal, communication, multitasking and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and help where needed
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
