Aide
to join our team, and add their values, positivity and professional energy to the environment we create for our kids.
To be a successful candidate, you must possess a Level 1 Alberta Childcare Certificate & have prior experience working with special nee
ds kids.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide one-on-one support to children with various levels of special needs
Effectively deal with behavioural concerns to ensure a positive outcome for the child
Support, plan and lead appropriate emergent programming directed at supporting the child's needs and based on Summit's foundational components.
Observe and document the child's development in both group set-up & one-on-one interactions.
Ensure the health and safety of all children in assigned groups.
Build positive relationships with parents, children and co-workers.
Requirements
Ability to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for kids ages 6 months to 5 years.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience working with special needs.
Clear Criminal Record Check, including that of Vulnerable Sector Search, obtained within the last 6 months.
Valid Standard First Aid Certification with CPR Level B or C.
Level 1 Alberta ECE certificate.
Prior experience working with children with special needs or who require additional care and support.
Ability to work as a team and collaborate with co-workers to create a great culture and work environment for everyone.
Compensation Includes:
$17.00 per hour
Government Wage Top-up - Aides are eligible for an additional Wage Top-up of $2.64 per hour
