We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cuisinier to join our team in providing exceptional meal preparation services in a senior care environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and an understanding of dietary needs specific to elderly individuals. Duties
Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, accommodating special dietary needs as required.
Ensure all meals are presented attractively and meet quality standards for taste and nutrition.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
Assist with meal planning, taking into consideration residents' preferences and nutritional guidelines.
Collaborate with nursing staff to understand any dietary restrictions related to patient care, including medication administration needs.
Participate in heavy lifting tasks related to food storage and preparation as necessary.
Provide support in dementia care by creating a comforting dining experience for residents with cognitive challenges.
Engage with residents during meal times, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere in the dining area.
Qualifications
Previous experience in meal preparation or cooking, preferably in a senior care, assisted living, or home care setting.
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for elderly individuals is highly desirable.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
Strong cleaning skills to maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen environment.
Compassionate approach towards patient care, particularly for those requiring hospice care or dementia support.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
