is looking for an
Aide
to join our team, and add their values, positivity and professional energy to the environment we create for our kids.
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must possess Alberta Childcare Certification Level 1 & have prior experience working with special needs children.
Responsibilities i
nclude, but are not limited to, the following
:
Provide one-on-one support to a designated child with special or additional needs.
Assist the child in daily routines and activities, including arrival, departure, snack time, outdoor play, and washroom routines.
Effectively deal with behavioural concerns to ensure a positive outcome for the child.
Support the child's participation in group activities and encourage social interaction with peers.
Support, plan and lead appropriate emergent programming directed at supporting the child's needs and based on Summit's foundational components.
Observe and document the child's development in both group set-up & one-on-one interactions.
Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for the child and others.
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Work collaboratively with the team to adapt activities to meet the needs of the child when required.
Create a safe, happy, and fun learning environment for our children
Proactively provide guidance and support for holistic child development

Ensure that the center facilities are always safe for our children and help the Daycare Director to strictly comply with licensing standards at all times

Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for kids ages 6 months to 5 years.
Previous experience working with children with ADHD, ASD and other limitations.
Prior experience as a behaviour interventionist/ Child & Youth worker is an asset.
Education in the fields of Psychology or Behavioural Intervention will be an asset
Clear & Valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector, taken in the last 6 months.
Valid First Aid Certification with CPR Level B or C (don't worry, we'll hook you up!).
Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skills (English)
Level 1 Alberta ECE certificate.
This is a fixed-term position that depends on the enrollment of the child in the program.
Hours of work are directly tied to the presence of their assigned child; the Aide is only scheduled during the hours their assigned child is present on site.
Compensation Includes:
Hourly rate of $19.64 (The Aide is compensated at a flat hourly rate and is
not eligible
for Wage Top-Up)
