Position Summary



Red Door IT is seeking a technically capable and detail-oriented

AI Systems Engineer & Governance Specialist

to support the design, deployment, and oversight of artificial intelligence solutions within business and regulated environments. This role sits at the intersection of

AI engineering, risk awareness, and operational governance

, ensuring AI-enabled systems are reliable, secure, and suitable for enterprise use.

The successful candidate will work alongside engineering, security, and leadership teams to implement AI solutions while contributing to internal standards, documentation, and risk-conscious design practices.

Core Responsibilities



Build, integrate, and maintain AI-driven systems used in business and operational contexts Assist with the deployment of machine learning and language model solutions into production environments Apply secure and responsible design principles throughout the AI lifecycle Participate in model evaluation, monitoring, and performance analysis Contribute to documentation describing system behavior, limitations, and operational considerations Support internal reviews related to risk, compliance, and data governance Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align AI use with business objectives Stay informed on emerging AI risks, regulatory trends, and best practices

Required Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline Professional experience working with AI, machine learning, or advanced automation systems Strong programming experience (Python preferred) and familiarity with modern AI frameworks Experience integrating software systems using APIs, databases, and cloud or on-prem platforms General understanding of data security, privacy, and risk considerations Strong written documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

Cybersecurity, risk, or compliance certifications, including: CISSP, CISM, or CISA AI Risk & Compliance Professional (AIRCP) AI Risk & Governance Strategist (AIRGS) ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor NIST, SOC, or risk management certifications Experience supporting or working within organizations pursuing formal compliance or certification programs, including enterprise AI governance initiatives (e.g., AIRCC or similar frameworks)

Additional Assets



Exposure to regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government Familiarity with internal controls, audits, or governance frameworks Experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences Comfort working in environments where documentation and accountability matter
