A Horizon Ag Research Ltd. is an agricultural contract research company that works in the Saskatoon area. A Horizon Ag Research focuses on small plot research for development of new pesticides, seed varieties and agronomic research.

Flexible work schedule in non-peak times (4-day work week in late July and august)

Qualifications:

Valid class 5 license (preference would be given to those with heavy trailer "G" endorsement or Class 1 license)

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Agriculture knowledge is an asset with focus in crops, soil science, and agronomy

Preference will be given to those who have taken pest ID (weeds, disease and insect) and control courses

Experience with farm machinery, trucks, and trailers would be considered an asset

Ability to do manual labor, including lifting between 25 and 50 lb.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data collection and accurate record keeping for tasks such as conducting plant counts and heights, weather data, crop staging

Operation of drones for image collection

Following standard operating procedures for a safe work environment, including maintaining personal safety equipment

Operate small plot machinery such as tractors, 1-ton trucks, combines

Field trial maintenance including tillage, plot spraying, seeding and mowing

Truck and trailer operation
