The Ag Service Technician is responsible for inspection, diagnosis, repair and service of equipment in our shop as well as on the road. Providing thorough and effective technical and mechanical assistance with parts and service requirements for customers is a key driver for support at Norheim Ranching. Day to day responsibilities include inspect, diagnose and repair equipment sold by Norheim Ranching as well as competitive machines, performing updates, pre-delivery inspections and post-season inspections, completing work orders including records on any diagnosis and repairs made, performing preventative maintenance on company owned equipment and maintaining general shop safety and cleanliness.

Major responsibilities:
Parts & Service
Perform general service work and repairs both in the shop and in the field as required
Perform general maintenance and repairs on company owned vehicles and equipment
Inspection of new and used equipment prior to sale and/or delivery
Diagnosis and troubleshooting of customer equipment
Completing pre and post-season inspections and updates
Completing pre-delivery inspections on new equipment
Complete inspection reports and work orders on all equipment that is serviced
Resolve customer issues/conflicts as required.
Ensure customer interactions result in a strong relationship with the company
General
Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and mechanic bays.
Be a champion of safety procedures in the shop and field.
Deliver parts or whole good products if necessary.
Attend supplier training as required.
All duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Functional: Has in-depth knowledge and understanding of mechanical abilities and implementing appropriate strategies for diagnosis and repair
Technical: Able to read and interpret schematics and use appropriate diagnostic tools to determine path to repair.

Independent: Self-motivated, self-start, sets and achieves specific targets independently while able to jump into team setting for business strategy, budget-planning initiatives.
Communication: Skilled at clearly expressing points of view while at the same time analyzing, interpreting, and taking direction from the operations Manager.
Education and experience
Preference is given to experience or formal training in Agricultural Equipment and/or mechanics roles. At minimum, a Grade 12 Diploma with 3 years experience in a mechanic or related role is required.
Good understanding and knowledge of forage related agriculture and experience in the livestock industry is considered a strong asset.
Journeyman status is not required, but is considered a strong asset.
Must have a valid Class 5 license.
