Job Summary:

Vale has a great opportunity available for an experienced Ag Equipment Technician to be a part of our custom products
assembly and equipment commissioning team. Vale Industries is a fast-paced, collaborative environment with lots of

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read documents, computer screens, blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout

and procedures
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed component
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain

  • Gain and maintain efficiencies by following lean principles
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed








Education and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a certified trade such as Agriculture Equipment Technician or similar. May consider 3rd or 4th year

apprentice
  • 2+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in general assembly work or specialized training
  • Experienced with a variety hand tool and power tools
  • Manufacturing experience in an agricultural or aggregate + mining environment an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other drawings
  • Must have outstanding punctuality and attendance
  • Ability to work according to production schedules and deadlines; willing to work extra shifts when required
  • Must possess strong problem solving and communication skills as well as the flexibility to handle changing

demands and work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Basic math and communication skills required
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment/able to work under pressure
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot airbrake systems

Knowledge Areas and Experience:

  • Must be able to work to targets hours
  • Leadership experience an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to accurately fit parts
  • Overhead crane and forklift training an asset (but not required)
  • Experience rigging and safe handling of components
  • WHMIS training an asset
  • Detail-oriented
