The Afterschool Program Coordinator oversees the planning, implementation, and management of daily afterschool program operations. This includes supervising staff, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for students, coordinating activities, communicating with parents and schools, and managing program logistics.



Plan, organize, and oversee daily afterschool activities that support academic, social, and emotional development.


Recruit, train, and supervise afterschool staff, volunteers, and activity leaders.


Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all students.


Coordinate with schools, parents, and community partners to support student needs.


Monitor attendance, behavior, and engagement of students; intervene as needed.


Develop and maintain schedules, curriculum plans, and activity calendars.


Manage program budget, supplies, and materials within allocated resources.


Collect and report data for program evaluation, grants, and compliance requirements.


Ensure compliance with state regulations and licensing (if applicable).


Organize family engagement events and promote parent involvement.



Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, Recreation and leisure or related field (or equivalent experience).


2+ years of experience working with children/youth in educational or recreational settings.


Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.


Ability to manage a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.


CPR/First Aid certification (preferred and required )


Bilingual (, etc.) a plus depending on the population served.
