Job Description

Our Afterschool Programs supports individuals school aged & up to 25 yo. It is run at the Sackville Sports Stadium from 2:30-5:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays & the Captain William Spry Center from 3:00-6:00 on Tuesdays & Thursdays - Seeking staff for the winter and spring terms (January-June) with potential to expand to our other sites and programs.

Join our team as a After-School program staff and make a positive impact on children, youth and young adults who have Autism and/or other diverse needs while they attend afternoon care. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about working with individuals with additional support needs and expanding their skill set during their time with us.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and engage participants in a variety of indoor/outdoor activities

- Assist leads as they implement age appropriate recreational programs

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times

- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for campers to learn and grow

- Collaborate with fellow staff to plan and execute daily activities

- Set up and Tear down supplies daily

-Swimming is required

Experience:

- Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting is required

- Knowledge of disability supports, and positive behavioral supports is required

- Strong communication skills, ability to take direction and skills to work in a fast paced, crisis management environment is highly preferred.

- Ability to adapt to various situations and work effectively in a team environment

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week

• Are you able to commute to the Sackville Sports Stadium and/or Captain William Spry Center (Spryfield) for shifts on scheduled days?
• Are you available to commit to 5 afternoons a week or a combination of those days with possibility of more shifts as an on-call staff? (We don't require availability for all shifts)
