About Us:
Westside Montessori Academy (WMA) is an independent school in East Vancouver offering an engaging Montessori program for students from Kindergarten through Grade 7. Our After-School Club extends the WMA experience with a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children aged

We are seeking a warm, creative, and organized
After-School Club Coordinator
to lead, coordinate, and develop our variety of after-school clubs offered each full school day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning engaging activities, building relationships with children and families, and leading a small team in a collaborative, child-centred setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of themed weekly and monthly clubs (e.g., arts & crafts, games, nature play)
Oversee the daily operation of all after-school club offerings and ensure programming aligns with WMA's values
Supervise children aged 5-12, ensuring their physical and emotional safety
Model and implement positive behaviour guidance strategies
Supervise and support after-school staff and volunteers, including scheduling and arranging coverage during staff absences or illness
Maintain accurate attendance records, incident logs, and health documentation
Communicate clearly and professionally with families during pickup
Maintain a clean, calm, and welcoming after-school club environment
Education, Experience and Certification:
Responsible Adult Certificate, Early Childhood Education (ECE), or BC Teacher Certification
Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting (ideally in a supervisory role)
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Clear Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector Screening)
Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices
Ability to respond effectively in emergencies and calmly manage challenging behaviours
