We are currently seeking one (1) new team member in Kingston to assist in the facilitation of the Girls Inc. After School Program on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons for the 2025-2026 school year.
Girls inc. Applicants will work together with Girls Ed Facilitators, the Girls Ed Program Lead, and volunteers to form the After School Program team for the 2025-2026 school year.
Successful applicants will be energetic, team-oriented leaders who enjoy working in large groups of children.
Job Duties
Assist in the delivery of the Girls Inc. After School Program for girls+ from Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Responsibilities will include participant supervision, individual and group behaviour management, activity facilitation, supply management, walking participant groups to and from the program locations, keeping the program spaces clean, working with the program team to ensure efficient program delivery, working with participant families, and troubleshooting problems.
The Girls Inc. After School Program takes place at J.G. Simcoe Public School and the Salvation Army on Weller Avenue in Kingston. Leaders pick up participants at local schools and walk with them to the program location. At the end of each day, leaders walk participant groups home in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Qualifications and Experience:
Successful completion of a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) check including a Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
A completed Ontario Secondary School Diploma and current enrollment in or completion of post-secondary education is required.
Preference will be given to current students or graduates in related fields of study including Child and Youth Care, Recreation Leadership, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Service Worker, Social Work, Behavioural Science, and Teacher's College.
Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
Prior experience and/or education in working with children is required.
High Five certification or equivalent is an asset. Applicants with similar international certifications/credentials are encouraged to apply.
