Summary:

Reporting to Vice President of Regulated Fuels Network you will be exposed to and required to balance technical capability, quality control, strategy, marketing, sales and management.

What you\'ll be contributing:

Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials Business Management:

  • Business Development - Drive, coordinate, and support the marketing of sustainable energy solutions, including communication with production and process teams for inventory management/control.
  • Customer focus, relationship management and strategic focus are critical factors for business development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strategies for success in the fuels and raw materials sectors.
  • Drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of new/existing customer sources and streams of alternative fuels and raw materials.
  • Actively participate in contract negotiations and oversee invoicing/collections.
  • Participate in the planning and development of future alternative fuel and alternate raw material activities/ business plans for the cement plant.
  • Involvement in climate change initiatives through project management support, analysis, and research and development.
  • Balance time and resources, pivot to provide solutions to cement plant and customer on short notice, providing quality control support, and tracking opportunities related to alternate fuels and alternate raw materials.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for capital investment to improve operational capabilities and add value to alternate fuels and raw materials programs.
Actively drive maximization of AFR KPI\'s:
  • Drive value of waste co-processing activities in the market.
  • Drive continuous increase in fuel benefit metrics, such as alternate fuels utilization and fuel value calculations.
  • Promote strong commercial practices to maximize revenues received for waste streams accepted.
  • Participate in AFR budget process related to plant\'s AFR usage, support plant budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Provide consistent communication with customers, cement plant operators, and quality control team.
To succeed in this position, you will need:

Education/Experience
  • A Bachelor\'s in engineering, finance, of other science field is preferred
Work Requirements
  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience.
  • Experience in material recycling operations, regulated waste management, waste-to-energy, or raw materials management.
  • Moderate travel required between sites primarily in central and eastern Canada.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements/ Others
  • Past experience with the development and management of opportunities related to regulated waste management, alternate fuels, and raw materials.
  • A self-starter with the ability to collaborate with a number of teams.
  • Ability to organize and write effective technical reports and communicate effectively with a high level of technical skill.
  • A strategic thinker, able to identify opportunities and manage new ideas and projects.
  • A self-starter with strong sense of initiative to be able to think outside the box and motivate and coordinate diverse teams.
  • Ability to work on large concepts down to finite details.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Energetic with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
  • Proficient in use of computer, Excel, SAP, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Proactively approaches responsibilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents.
  • Ability to work in a transversal organization and as part of a network.
