QUALIFICATIONS
Registered and licensed to practice in Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing (BN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba standards, Scope of practice documents, Regulated Health Professionals Act, PHIA, Mental Health Act code of ethics
Applicant must possess two year equivalent FT experience in working with vulnerable populations (i.e. Mental Health, Addictions/Recovery, and homelessness populations)
Knowledge of and experience in working with individuals engaged in addictions recovery and treatment
A minimum of one (1) year experience with individual and group counselling; minimum one year nursing experience; proven knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.
Valid C.P.R. certificate
Successful completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
Successful completion of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position (recovery oriented practice, trauma informed, harm-reduction philosophy, clinical assessment skills, and a client centered practice within a nursing scope)
Demonstrated communication skills
Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary team
