We have earned the position of the preferred contractor to numerous public entities and Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) across Canada and abroad. Our Construction segment includes all aspects of the construction of both public and private infrastructure in the Civil, Urban Transportation, Nuclear, Utility, and Conventional Industrial sectors. We operate primarily in Canada but selectively pursue international initiatives.

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Aerial Foreperson will be responsible for ensuring that the Project is completed on schedule in compliance with the contract, and the job cost estimate and all the work is completed safely to high standards of quality. The Foreperson is also responsible for negotiating the scope and price of subcontracts.

This is a mobile project, the successful candidate will need to conduct site work at different locations within the Treaty 3 territory.

What You\'ll Do Here:

  • Responsible for, or assists the Superintendent in, the overall planning and scheduling to ensure that the Project is constructed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Monitors the overall progress of the project and takes corrective action where necessary.
  • Coordinates and monitors the three main functions - Administration, Engineering and Construction.
  • Ensure that the owner is being advised of all extra work and claims, and that subcontractors are being advised of back charges.
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the Company\'s Safety and Environment Policies and QC Plans.
  • Facilitates a safe work culture, is accountable for the safety of the crew; ensuring crewmembers apply the standards for safe working conditions and are fit for work each day.
  • Ensures that Company policies and project procedures are being adhered to as well as compliance with union agreements, if applicable.
  • Reviews and provides approval of project cost reports and ensures projected job profits are accurate and current.
  • Ensures new crew members are oriented to the job.
  • Assesses competency and capability of tradespersons; evaluating crew capability and benchmarking to others to ensure that the crew meets required levels of quality.
  • Communicates the job and assigns individual and crew tasks.
  • Coordinates on the job training for apprentices and facilitating mentoring of apprentices by journeymen.
  • Promotes, supports, and facilitates teamwork and harmony between all construction crews by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude among all project crews, regardless of craft makeup.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Technical school background or at least five years of aerial or pole line construction experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Required: walking, lifting, operating equipment, etc.
  • Ability to carry drawings and diaries as required.
  • Comfortable using stairs, ladders and climbing over rough terrain.
  • Ability to work long hours per day in sometimes rough weather conditions.
