A post-secondary degree and approximately 10 years\' experience and knowledge of infrastructure investment processes through business case development
Familiar and proficient with project management processes
A passion for influencing change within the context of the Climate Emergency, by using collaboration, innovation, and an outcomes-based approach for improving society
Demonstrable knowledge of climate change legislation and environmental policy
Demonstrable technical background, with strong numerical skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data and critically analyse information
Experience in preparing quantitative climate risk assessments as well as qualitative assessments
Experience in climate resilience implementation and planning
Experience coordinating projects and teams of people
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into existing teams and work alongside colleagues of other disciplines
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
Broad range of consultancy skills, including collaboration, negotiating, presenting and budget management
5 years of experience, specifically in climate resilience, sustainability, low-carbon, climate change and/or green infrastructure sectors
A degree in environmental science, climate change, engineering, planning, economics or equivalent
Sound knowledge and ability within MS Office suite of software
Experience and knowledge of LEED, Envision or other sustainable design standards
Experience of ArcGIS or other geospatial software desirable
Experience within broader sustainability strategies and design features and/or low carbon strategies including energy efficiency, GHG accounting, and life cycle assessments
Aspirations for membership and chartership of a related professional body
Experience of projects in multiple sectors (e.g. Built environment, Transportation, Water, Energy etc.)
Knowledge and experience of risk identification, management and mitigation

Due to recent project success and continued growth of our advisory team, we are seeking to recruit an advisory consultant with climate change and sustainability experience. The successful Candidate will support the delivery of strategic climate change resilience and adaptation advice to our projects, as well as support Mott MacDonald\'s thematic leadership in sustainability for a range of infrastructure clients in Canada and the North America region.
Typical work will involve:
Developing climate resilience and adaptation strategies, assessments, and implementation plans for clients in Canada and North America
Supporting clients to optimize sustainable outcomes in infrastructure projects and meet federal, provincial, and municipal targets and policy aspirations
Advise on climate resilience and adaptation including:
Read and translate climate change data into impacts for assets and projects
Identify mitigation measures for communities and infrastructure
Conduct vulnerability assessments according to industry frameworks such as PIEVC and ICLEI\'s BARC
Apply and transfer knowledge and understanding of climate change and sustainability legislation to projects and other teams
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare and manage proposals and projects that involve working with colleagues across the region and globe
Interface climate change advisory with wider infrastructure outcome needs, such as environmental parameters, to achieve enhanced social outcomes and whole lifecycle costs
Support the promotion of, and engage with clients on, the UN SDGs and other international sustainability frameworks and standards
Use digital tools and technologies to add value to our clients and promote efficient delivery
Establish and maintain client and stakeholder relationships in the sustainability and climate change community
