Would you like to take on a stimulating, high-impact challenge? We are looking for an Advisor, Station Development. Please note that the candidate may be based in one of our 3 offices: Montreal, Toronto or Ottawa.

The role





As the Advisor, Station Development, you will play a key role in supporting, leading and overseeing our Private Development Partner (PDP) in the development of High-Speed Railway (HSR) stations. This position ensures that stations are conceived as multimodal hubs that support seamless passenger experience, operational efficiency, sustainability, and integration with surrounding communities.



You will collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external throughout all project phases. The advisor will provide technical guidance to ensure the solution meets the organization's strategic objectives in capacity and infrastructure development.

The responsibilities





Support the PDP in the development of station concepts, layouts, and design principles that align with system vision and customer experience goals. Provide expertise on station functions, including passenger flow, accessibility, intermodality, safety, and commercial opportunities. Ensure stations and associated facilities recognise local town planning requirements. Translate customer insights and feedback into station design requirements. Review design submissions and provide recommendations to optimize passenger experience and operational effectiveness. Work collaboratively with municipalities, regional partners, Indigenous communities, and transit agencies to ensure integration with local planning objectives. Collaborate with government agencies, local authorities and stakeholders in order to secure approvals and permits. Ensure inclusive design to support accessibility for all travelers, including persons with reduced mobility, seniors, families and GBA+. Oversee the planning and implementation of initiatives aimed at providing attractive train station environments and spaces, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Work closely with engineering, operations, scheduling, customer service, and other departments to ensure an integrated approach to capacity and train station development. Provide input into consultation materials for communities, customers, and stakeholder groups. Seek out opportunities for transit orientated development and associated housing. Support our PDP in the assessment of existing train stations, identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and meet growing demand. Ensure that station planning and design meets project Objectives, including developing strategies to deliver "net zero".

The requirements





Bachelor in a relevant discipline (Urban Planning, Architecture, Transportation planning or related fields). Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with experience in leading consultants. Proven experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in the design and development of infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of railway and/or transit systems, station operations, and intermodal integration. Thorough knowledge of passenger transport industry (or similar) regulations and standards. Bilingualism required

Strong analytical skills and ability to provide information to leadership to support decision making based on data and in-depth analysis. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences and facilitate effective stakeholder engagement. Applies project management principles to organize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources, ensuring successful delivery of station development initiatives. Thinks holistically, aligning station development activities with organizational goals and long-term vision. Proactively identifies challenges and develops innovative solutions; adapts to changing project requirements and environments with resilience.
