Therefore, we are seeking an Advisor, Risk & Insurance, Credit & Contracts to join our growing team in Calgary, Alberta. This dynamic role will be instrumental in managing the risk & insurance portfolio for CPNA and CI assets, and supports the North American credit & contract function for Marketing, Joint Venture, Supply Chain and other significant third party relationships.Your Background

  • Highly effective communicator who builds consensus;
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in finance, Risk Management or Accounting;
  • CFA Designation or enrollment in the program is considered an asset;
  • At least 10 years of related risk management experience.
  • Previous experience with oil and gas assets and operations is considered an asset;

Your Role with Our Team
  • Proactively and efficiently manage insurance programs for North America and other international assets and operations.
  • Collaborate with business units to gather necessary underwriting information, analyze and organize the data.
  • Optimize the insurance portfolio to achieve proper balance between risk retention and premiums.
  • Where a claim occurs, mitigate the risk of loss and maximize insurance recovery.
  • Support business units by ensuring appropriate insurance provisions are included on commercial contracts and adequately address insurance related risk.
  • Co-ordinate premium tax payments and business unit allocations.
  • Collaborate and co-ordinate insurance program renewals with business units, brokers and head office as required.
  • Share insurance program knowledge, market intelligence and lessons learned throughout the organization.
  • Perform credit and financial analysis on new and existing counterparties, joint venture partners, critical suppliers and other third parties as required;
  • Recommend open or secured credit limits within established risk tolerance to support commercial opportunity;
  • Co-ordinate, negotiate and administer marketing related contracts and related credit enhancement. Recommend appropriate credit and insurance terms in company-wide agreements.
  • Assist with formulation, submission and approvals of annual and specific hedging plans and strategies;
  • Assist the Manager with development and maintenance of corporate credit and insurance policies and procedures;
  • Liaise with external counterparties, partners and other stakeholders as required;
  • Assist with on-boarding and KYC information to enable marketing counterparties;
  • Special projects as required.
