Position Summary:




The Advisor, People Team - Generalist - is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR services and support to both employees and management within the organization. This role entails a broad range of activities, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. The HR Advisor Generalist serves as a key point of contact for HR-related inquiries and provides guidance on HR policies and procedures. Additionally, the HR Advisor Generalist plays a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture, enhancing employee engagement, and contributing to strategic HR initiatives.

Key Tasks



HR Operations & Compliance

Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries from employees and managers. Ensure HR policies, procedures, and employment laws are effectively implemented and compliant with provincial and federal regulations. Maintain and update employee records, HRIS systems, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Assist in internal audits and reporting (e.g., POR).
Employee Relations & Performance Support

Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring consistency in policies and fair resolutions. Assist managers with performance management processes, including PIPs, coaching, and documentation. Support employee engagement initiatives, including culture-building activities and well-being programs. Advise employees on HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns while promoting a positive work environment.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding

Own and execute the recruitment initiatives from start to finish. Oversee smooth onboarding for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary tools, policies, and systems access. Facilitate exit interviews, track trends, and recommend improvements for retention.
Policy & Process Improvement

Ensure HR policies and practices are kept up to date and clearly communicated across the organization. Proactively identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements for a leaner, more effective HR function. Support training initiatives for HR compliance, workplace policies, and leadership support.

Skills / Experience:

3-5 years of experience in a key role that allowed the person to operate in all fields of Human Resources, knowledge of the Transportation, Maritimes Industries, Warehousing and Cargo logistics. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Desire to provide the best possible experience for our customers - white gloves service. Demonstrated skills in dealing with tight timelines while completing daily tasks and cases. Capacity to evaluate situations and offer the best suitable options for settlement. Demonstrate Tact and Political business acumen. Is Intrinsically a Teamplayer. Aptitude to work in a high intensity environment, to prioritize, keep a high level of professionalism in the execution and delivers clean, clinical results. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and pro-active approach to make measured decisions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and work under pressure towards deadlines. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Bilingual (French and English) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Canadian (Federal and Provincial) labor laws.
