We are looking for a Payroll Services Adviser in our Yellowknife ESPS team. This role will work as part of a team supporting multiple payrolls, processes, and activities within a challenging payroll environment.
This role, whilst performing activities of analyst for assigned area, provides complex support and guidance to Payroll colleagues, Employees, leaders & HR, performs second level of review/approval, provides support to Team lead and viewed as successor to Team Lead

Responsible to ensure timely and accurate payroll services of the scope of work
Responsible and own Yearend activities and reporting
Act as primary point of escalated issues from payroll team due to complexity and support non-standard
transactions and issues with high degree of complexity.
Lead and contribute to the on-time delivery of day-to-day payroll.
Work closely with ESPS(employee services payroll services) team members to facilitate resolution of issues and ensure deadlines met
Drive and monitor compliance to global/local policies and processes, company policies, internal control
standards and regulatory requirements.
Partner with relevant stakeholders to lead the resolution of complex payroll related queries, including the
delivery of ad hoc payroll related business requirements.
Identify, lead/support implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
Support/implement technical system updates/changes relating from legislative and Business requirements.
Liaise with service providers, Global Mobility, local gov\xe2\x80\x99t (taxation payments, reconciliations, submissions both
monthly, biannually, and annually)
Manage external audits to satisfy payroll requests.
Leads deployment of operational projects and recurring annual activities
Review and perform second level of approval for monthly payroll processing
Support Payroll accounting team to ensure timeous and accurate reconciliations
Approval of monthly debit order files
What you\'ll bring
To succeed in this role, you must have
Extensive experience in Payroll (over 5 years) with relevant University Degree
degree/qualification, comprehensive understanding of CAD and Northern Payroll legislation and taxation.
Knowledge and experience of SAP Payroll within an environment of 1000+ employees and multiple payrolls
Ability to influence and problem solve.
Proven experience in creating and development process documentation DTPs, SOPs, policies.
Resilience, ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture and have a strong commitment to team-
based processes and outcomes.
Capability and versatility in delivering objectives across a diverse workforce.
Excellent interpersonal influencing, communication, consultation skills along with self-managing time to
deliver priorities with high attention to detail.
Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills
Strong exposure / experience in third party payments and reconciliation of GL accounts.
A desire for further exposure /development in team leadership and willingness to take wider responsibility.
