Your Opportunity:

The In-Scope Classification & Compensation (ISCC) Advisor within the In-Scope Classification and Compensation team is responsible for providing specialized job evaluation and compensation services to Human Resource Business Partnerships, Operational Leaders and other key stakeholders within Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL). The ISCC Advisor works with a high degree of independence and in consort with ISCC Senior Advisors and Analysts in the delivery of job evaluation and compensation services consistent with processes, procedures and policies.

Description:

The ISCC Advisor as a member of the In-Scope Classification & Compensation team works closely with ISCC Senior Advisors and Analysts to carry out job evaluation and compensation activities for unionized positions within AHS and APL. Reporting to the Manager, In-Scope Classification & Compensation, the ISCC Advisor works with a high degree of independence providing effective and efficient job evaluation and related compensation services for unionized positions across the province. Duties include, advising stakeholders regarding job evaluation processes, procedures, and policies; conducting job evaluation reviews using appropriate methodologies, tools and processes; documenting rationales and communicating outcomes and other complex information in a diplomatic and concise manner to all stakeholders both verbally and in writing. The ISCC Advisor will also take the lead role in small to medium job evaluation projects; provide education to stakeholders regarding job evaluation processes and collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve issues and develop creative solutions that maintain the integrity of the job evaluation system and ensure that business goals and objectives are met. The ISCC Advisor investigates situations as required, engages appropriate stakeholders for resolution of issues and identifies when an ISCC Senior Advisor support is required. This requires maintaining up to date knowledge of areas such as Labour Relations, Compensation, HR Business Partners both in a broad context of their functions and in the specific details of job evaluation related processes.

Required Qualifications: A minimum of a post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area. Excellent knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access) is required. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-5 years in a Human Resources role ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is required. Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills. Strong teamwork, organizational skills, communication and interpersonal skills are required. Professionalism and the ability to respond to changing priorities and move seamlessly through various scenarios in a busy, detail oriented work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with a healthcare and/or unionized environment is preferred. Experience with/knowledge of Human Resource Management Information Systems (ePeople/PeopleSoft) is preferred. Experience leading and coordinating projects is preferred. CHRP or other recognized relevant designation is preferred. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
