We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an Advisor, Indigenous Partnerships to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko\xe2\x80\x99s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Five to seven years related work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history in Canada considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the forestry industry considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, and legal history as it relates to both forestry and Indigenous rights in Canada is considered an asset.
  • Excellent presentation, group facilitation, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a proven ability to successfully manage timelines and milestones with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to think creatively, conceptually, synthesize information, and implement solutions exercising flexibility and sound judgment.

In your role you will:
  • Lead Tolko\xe2\x80\x99s participation in the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Program.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a variety of programs, policies, and initiatives to support Tolko\xe2\x80\x99s ongoing work and partnerships with Indigenous communities across Canada.
  • Support and explore innovative ideas that further Tolko\xe2\x80\x99s strategic plan.
  • Lead Indigenous internal communications - With the support of Corporate Communications.
  • Support external communications as required.
  • Support internal and external committees and working groups as required.
  • Use your strong project manager and project coordinator skills.
  • Use your strong interpersonal, influence and consultation skills to obtain buy-in from all levels of leadership.
  • Develop trust-based relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Travel as necessary.
