Position Overview

Reporting to the Team Lead - Environmental Management and Monitoring and working closely with the Calgary-based technical Advisors and Ekati Mine site team, the Advisor, Environment is responsible for scheduling and logistical planning for environmental compliance and monitoring programs at the Ekati Diamond Mine.

The successful candidate will be required to work a Monday to Friday (5x2) schedule at the Corporate Office in Calgary, AB, with regular travel to the Ekati mine site, Yellowknife, Indigenous communities, and general travel as dictated by business needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

- Lead the scheduling and logistics for environmental compliance and monitoring programs (e.g., Water License conditions and Metal and Diamond Mine Effluent Regulations);
- Build requirements of the technical programs and the site team\'s schedule; communicate clearly with all members of the team to ensure environmental compliance is
maintained;
- Manage project deadlines, completion, and budgets (includes financial forecasting and accruals);
- Develop and maintain controlled documents and controlled records registry;
- Manage employee and contractor training; build schedule for annual training.
- Complete ISO and TSM internal audits and assist with external audits on an as needed basis; track and manage audit findings and departmental commitments.
- Book departmental travel to and from the mine site; track on-site environment employees and contractors.
- Order and track consumables (e.g., field and laboratory equipment, PPE, office supplies)
- Provision of support to the environment field teams as required.
- Organize and maintain the environment team database.

Education/Experience

- Graduate degree (B.Sc.) in biological sciences
- Three years of directly related and/or project execution/scheduling experience.
- ISO and TSM Auditor training is an asset.
- Project Management Professional certification is an asset.
- Experience with SAP, MP5, and SharePoint are beneficial.

Additional Information

Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
