Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Advisor to join Alberta\'s Tomorrow Project (ATP; www.myatp.ca). Established in 2000, ATP is a research platform to advance understanding about cancer and chronic disease. ATP works with the health research community in research institutes, health services organizations, and industry partners across Canada. ATP is also a member of CanPath (www.canpath.ca), a coalition of similar studies across Canada. The Business Advisor reports to the ATP Strategic Director. This position provides oversight for ATP\'s business administrative needs, monitors full cycle budgeting and accounting, tracks finances, balances accounts and manages contracts. The advisor collaborates with the Scientific and Strategic Directors to produce annual reports for stakeholders and the public, and relay progress updates as required to funders and sponsors. The advisor will utilize expert communication and organizational skills to prepare and monitor ATP and sub-project budgets, implement budgets and deliverables, and develop and maintain business collaborations. The advisor also manages stakeholder relationships with AHS (Finance, Contracting Procurement & Supply Management, Health Systems Access, Legal, Privacy and site administration) and external stakeholders (CanPath and third-party vendors). This exciting role will provide the advisor with the opportunity for growth and development within Cancer Care Alberta (CCA), including the ability to contribute to design of a service model to provide data for cancer research provincially and nationally. This is a hybrid role (virtual and onsite) and you will be expected to work onsite (in Calgary) as needed on the traditional lands of Treaty 7 and Metis Settlements. The ATP team will also be moving to the new state-of-the-art Arthur Child cancer center in 2024.

Under direction of the ATP Strategic Director and in collaboration with the ATP Operations and Research Leads, this position provides oversight of business administrative needs including oversight and management of budgets, finances, contracts and cost recoveries. Responsible for: Managing the entire budget cycle. In collaboration with the Scientific and Strategic Directors, for production of annual reports for stakeholders and the general public, and for the production of all progress and financial reports required by provincial and national funders and sponsors on a quarterly and annual basis. Duties: Collaborate with ATP operations and research teams in the development and implementation of budgets and deliverables. Prepare and monitor ATP and sub-project budgets. Responsible for the development and maintenance of business collaborations and stakeholder relationships within AHS (Finance, Contracting Procurement & Supply Management, Health Systems Access, Legal, Privacy and site administration) and with external stakeholders. Track finances and year-end balancing of accounts. Support contract drafting, coordination, review and negotiation. Oversight of contract deliverables and quarterly reports of progress. Develop and maintain an ATP project tracking and reporting system. Member of ATP management team, advising on business administration matters. Produce and deliver project progress and priority reporting to Management team. Oversee and mentor staff conducting accounts payable/receivable activities. Cost scenario planning for projects/grants. Oversee privacy and risk assessment planning, documentation and reporting. Provide project management support. Identify and execute areas of operational/project process improvement. Oversee e-Facilities requests and liaise with site administration.
