About the Role

We are looking for someone to join our team who is truly interested in promoting interdisciplinary programs in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. A collaborator and keen supporter of student success, the ideal candidate will be able to connect with students and program directors alike.

These core competencies are needed to be successful in the role:

  • Advising experience for undergraduate programs.
  • Experience in advising students in their academic journey.
  • Knowledge and concrete application experience of university policies and of advising tools is an asset.
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree and three years of related experience in post-secondary program advising and registration services, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of post-secondary regulations and academic requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.

Additional Information

The assignment end date is December 20, 2024.

Please note that this position will normally be working 50% in Burnaby (hybrid available) and 50% in Vancouver (hybrid available) since half of the position will be dedicated to supporting a new Minor in Public Policy with the Department being located at the Vancouver campus.
