About us:

Working under the direction of the Director, Advancement Talent Management and Programs, and supporting the Director, Advancement Talent Management and Pathways, the incumbent coordinates a broad range of projects, programming and provides confidential support to the Advancement Talent Management unit, which is charged with providing talent management solutions to advancement staff and leaders across the university.

The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the logistics of professional development virtual and in-person events, including our "Advancement College" and other specialty learning programming. The Coordinator is also responsible for planning, scoping and organizing special events, acting as the Learning Management System (LMS) administrator for the office, coordinating advancement staff recognition programs, supporting the annual talent review and succession planning processes, talent pipeline initiatives (e.g. internships), and actively participating in ad hoc projects assigned by the Directors and/or Talent Management Strategist and Program Specialist. They are also responsible for providing onboarding coordination, support and services to new Advancement staff across the University.

The incumbent will also provide support to talent review and succession planning processes for all advancement staff across the institution. They are responsible for various information management and reporting activities including the activities of the unit, including compiling unit statistics, metrics and talent review results, management of the advancement college SharePoint portal, updating the talent related sections of the advancement website, and the creation and curation of the Advancement Talent Management newsletter including writing brief articles and the creation of shared documents and materials for advancement leaders and staff. They are responsible for the office supplies budget and preparing and tracking invoices for the unit, including funds allocated for broader professional development in the advancement field.

Qulifications Required:

Education:

  • Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) years related experience in a similar talent management environment.
  • Experience with staff learning programming and assessment.
  • Familiarity with the University of Toronto, its policies, procedures and their application.
  • Experience working with the public in a diverse and challenging environment.
  • Experience handling course registration in a service environment strongly preferred.
  • SAP experience with SuccessFactors Learning module and SharePoint would be an asset.
Skills:
  • Proficient Computer skills experience with the ability to use a variety of software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and demonstrated experience with scheduling software (Outlook) and experience navigating databases and reporting software.
  • HRIS an asset.
  • Experience with graphic design and internal communications is an asset.

  • Experience in interpreting and explaining moderately complex policies.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated judgment, tact, discretion and ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
