ConocoPhillips Canada is seeking an Advanced Process Control Engineer/Specialist to join the Automation & APC team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Automation & APC, this role will be responsible for providing technical automation support for APC application implementation at the ConocoPhillips Surmont and Montney facilities. This position will influence the decision making and direction of the Canada Business Unit in the design, rollout, execution, support, and maintenance of Advanced Process Control that is instrumental in the Business Unit\xe2\x80\x99s strategy to achieve a step change reduction in its cost of supply and greenhouse gas emissions. This is a M-F role based out of our Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
Promote, support, and adhere to ConocoPhillips Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system. To ensure that HSE issues are given priority consideration in all activities.
Lead technical design aspects of the Advanced Process Control initiative for the workstream team.
Provide technical support for DCS regulatory control modifications, logic control, any additional Advanced Regulatory Control, and Advanced Process Control, including DCS and APC system programming, operator training and documentation.
Setup and maintain APC and associated system servers, including OPC.
Work closely with the site DCS team to maintain overall control system integrity and reliability throughout APC implementation.
Monitor the integrity of the Advanced Process Control utility, and its interfaces to other systems and taking action to maintain.
Support the design, implementation, and start-up of the APC systems. Including FAT/SAT for verification/validation of systems.
Identification and implementation of Advanced Process Control strategies.
Identification and implementation of additional requirements to support successful APC implementation.
Support the development of commissioning plans and procedures for Advanced Process Control applications.
Support the continuous improvement of Advanced Process Control key performance indicators and assist in identifying those indicators.
Provide support for developing APC change processes / procedures and maintain strict adherence to them.
Participate in the development of APC standards and guidelines.
Work closely with Operations to ensure reliability of interface graphics and systems.
Train operators in the use of the new APC systems and the interface graphics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in process control application development, preferably in an Oil & Gas / Petrochemical operating environment.
APEGA designation preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience with Aspen DMC3 software.
Legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.
