Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP) operates out of various hospitals, clinics, and community locations across the province. It is comprised of specialized teams of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Health Promoters, Recreation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Secretaries, and other members of the allied health and support team.The Advanced Practice Leader (APL) will be part of the Provincial Center for Training, Education, and Learning (PCTEL) and will report to the Provincial Clinical Leader and Manager of Training and Education.
The position will have two emphases. One emphasis will be on delivering courses for PCTEL, providing clinicians with training in evidence-based interventions for mental health and addictions problems. The second emphasis will be on providing training, consultation, and support to mental health professionals working within Community Wellness and Supports. This will include supporting clinicians who work with adolescents or adults at risk of developing or with mild-to-moderate mental health or substance use problems.
The APL will have experience working with adolescents and adults with substance-related and other addictive problems as well as providing group interventions.
