Come be part of the Asset Technical Department of ExxonMobil Canada Energy. Our offices are located on the East Coast of Canada in St. John\xe2\x80\x99s, Newfoundland with a workforce of nearly 250 people and two world class offshore production assets.

What role you will play in our team

The Advanced Integrity Engineer will provide broad technical leadership and expertise in the areas of Pressure Equipment and Materials & Corrosion Monitoring / Control within the Business Unit (BU). They will provide business optimization and guidance to sure that asset integrity programs are both efficient and effective.

This position includes key activities such as:

  • Ownership and management of asset integrity programs, including execution and continuous optimization to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations;
  • Identification and progression of opportunities to enhance Asset and BU performance and processes (SSHE, production, workflow and process efficiency and effectiveness);
  • Evaluation, assessment, and management of remediation for facility integrity issues and operational / financial exposures;
  • Provide broad technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams, including leveraging established technical SME relationships;
  • Mentoring within the BU and drive leveraging of ExxonMobil global resources, including Business Support Centers;
  • Maintain key relationships with and effectively leverage expertise of equipment providers, service partners, and global technical contacts;engage with and provide support for global integrity initiatives;
  • Support project options assessments, technical evaluations, development and execution, both direct and with technical support
What you will do

Core Responsibilities:
Integrity program management:
  • Drive functional excellence and efficiency in the areas of fixed-equipment facilities integrity, corrosion management, and project management and execution including support for risk-based equipment strategies and inspection execution and results evaluation;
  • Management of and close interface with Inspection services providers and contractors, including:
  • Directing inspection activities to ensure achievement of asset integrity goals and regulatory and code requirements;
  • Set performance expectations and maintain accountability work work deliverables;
  • Identification and progression of opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of inspection activities;
  • Monitoring and management of cost and purchase orders to ensure appropriate controls maintained and spend within budgets;
  • Provide day-to-day support to asset teams with operational and project execution issues and queries
  • Align priorities with Asset, Maintenance and Reliability, and broader BU mission, vision and goals
Mentoring:
  • Provide technical mentorship to multi-disciplinary engineering team in the areas of Pressure Equipment, Materials and Corrosion Monitoring / Control
  • Support team technical and personal / professional development in the areas of technical mentorship, training, network participation, and career development
External interfaces and relationships :
  • Effectively and professionally engage with external parties, including:
  • Regulatory and Certifying Authority;
  • 3rd party contractors and service providers
  • Key equipment suppliers
  • Manage key interfaces with and between contractors and service providers to ensure work activities and requirements are executed efficiently and effectively
Global engagement and support:
  • Maintain strong connection with global ExxonMobil technical experts, including support and/or interface, as applicable.
  • Identify opportunities for, and promote the use of, Global Technical Centers and support workflow initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-asset and global sharing and communication to improve individual asset performance.
  • High level of engagement with and support for company global initiatives related to fixed equipment integrity management practices.
About you

Skills and Qualifications
  • Engineering degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Materials) required
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
  • Engineering degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Materials) required
  • Offshore oil and gas engineering experience, with a focus on operations support and integrity management (10+ years preferred)
  • Technical experience and expertise in the following areas:
  • Pressure equipment codes and standards (Vessels, Piping, Tanks)
  • Integrity management systems and plan execution
  • Inspection practices and procedures, including NDE techniques
  • Materials integrity and selection, including welding practices and evaluation
  • Additional experience in project management and controls, construction and operations / process surveillance
  • Professional Engineer registration and ability to practice within the province of Newfoundland & Labrador preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interface with field operations, maintenance, other technical functions, and external service providers, as well as provide effective technical and personal / professional guidance and mentorship to team
  • Knowledge of offshore oil and gas facilities and integrity management, including experience in supporting and/or overseeing various technical disciplines and providing integrity guidance
  • Functional knowledge of local regulations and strong understanding of industry design and operations and maintenance practices and standards
  • Sound understanding of business principles, risk assessment and management, and cost management and optimization
