Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction.Reporting to the Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Emergency Response Team, the Advanced Care Paramedic \xe2\x80\x93 Emergency Response Team is the site\xe2\x80\x99s primary emergency healthcare professional responsible for providing pre-hospital assessment and medical care to people with acute illness or injures. This position also plays a critical role in the site emergency preparedness and response plan and will work very closely with the mine site emergency response coordinator and mine rescue members. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining required training for the site Mine Rescue Team.Location: Blackwater Mine SiteSchedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation Responsibilities:Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.Ensuring our own health & safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.Maintenance and inspections of life saving equipment, AED\xe2\x80\x99s, fire extinguishers, emergency showers / eye wash stations, etc.Maintain the onsite medical facility, its equipment, and inventories to industry standards.This includes cleaning, decontaminating, and inspecting emergency vehicles and equipment to maintain a constant state of emergency preparednessProvide routine medical care and advanced care life support services to the mine siteRespond to emergency calls for medical assistance at accidents and emergenciesOn call during the night for emergenciesAssure compliance with company policies and proceduresAdminister drug and alcohol screening as per company policyProvide monthly reports and statistics concerning site injuries and incidentsPerform medical surveillance testing such as Hearing tests, Spirometry and health and wellness checksMember of the Emergency Response Team and emergency response drillsCreate and conduct monthly Advanced First Aid training sessionsLiaising with members of emergency services, such as the police, coroner, Mine Rescue personnel, medical oversite and other ambulance services to ensure the appropriate level of responseManning an ambulance or other rapid response vehiclePreparing and reporting the patient\'s history, condition, and treatment to relevant hospital staffOther Health and Safety duties as required Qualifications:At least 3 years of relevant safety-related training experience required.Emergency Response team experience required.ICS 100, (200 & 300 would be considered an asset)Surface Mine Rescue or Underground Mine RescueNFPA 1001 Firefighter Professional Standard Certification or NFPA 1081 Incipient and Advanced Exterior. (an asset)NFPA 1072 Hazmat Operations or Technician (an assest)Advanced Care Paramedic licensed in British Columbia plus a minimum of 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in heavy industryOccupational First Aid level III or equivalentClass 4 Drivers License in British ColumbiaCPR-C CertificateDrug and alcohol collection training would be an assetFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to emergency response and safety training.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement effective safety solutionsExcellent organizational and record-keeping abilities to manage training documentation and records.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) standards and requirements.Previous experience in mining or industrial settings is highly desirable.Experience working with the Incident Command System.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, demanding setting.Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Benefits
