Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Education & Community Relations - Community Oncology Program the Advanced Cancer - Projects and Evaluation Coordinator\'s purpose is to ensure focused initiatives are responsive to the needs of advanced cancer patients that CCMB serves.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities related to the project \xe2\x80\x9cExploring the Decision-Making and Wait-Time Experience of Patients and Caregivers with Esophageal, Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Advanced Cancers\xe2\x80\x9d. The Project Coordinator will also collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the initiative is conducted in a sustainable way. The Project Coordinator will ensure that all research requirements are continuously met (ethics, funding, reporting, etc), and present project status and updates to committees, leadership and funders as required. The Project Coordinator will support all communication activities to internal and external stakeholders. The Project Coordinator will ensure that the project includes patient and caregiver engagement through equitable manners.

Qualifications:

Required:

Level of Formal Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate degree in Health Sciences, or Social Sciences with a minimum of 2 years of experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research or evaluation.
  • 3 years project management experience - implementing in a healthcare (or other relevant) environment
  • Must have demonstrated successful experience in grant/proposal/business plan writing.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating research, including proposal development, ethics, evaluation, publication and reporting
  • Demonstrated & successful experience in developing and implementing and evaluating new projects/initiatives in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in several projects simultaneously
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Experience establishing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with all levels of staff, the public, and various stakeholders, and partners
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, liaise with, and support physicians, nurses, patient navigators and other clinical staff / health professionals
  • Must be able to work in independent and team environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of health equity and how it impacts patient care, experience and outcomes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; excel, word, power point, outlook
  • Experience working with web-based communications such as Teams and Zoom
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Other
  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
Preferred:
  • Ability to speak French
  • Experience in the health care environment
  • Experience in writing grants and reports to funding agencies
  • Masters level education
Asset:
  • Education and/or experience in project management and change management.
  • Experience in coordinating and implementing educational programs for adult learners such as patients or health care providers is an asset
  • Experience working in and with communities and understanding of the rural health care environment
  • Familiarity with the cancer patient journey
  • Familiarity with advanced cancer or palliative care
