ADULT HOME SHARE - Community Resource Supervisor

Adult Home Share (AHS)

is one of the many services areas within New Directions, providing support to over 200 people in 160 home share locations in Winnipeg and surrounding area. AHS strives to promote a sense of belonging and to provide opportunities for individuals to have meaningful lives, achieved by providing person-centered supports.


The Community Resource Supervisor acts as the primary point of contact for the Community Resource Workers operating within Adult Home Share. Responsible for providing supervision and evaluation, the Supervisor oversees the development of staff teams in a licensed Home Share Provider environment. The Community Resource Supervisor engages with the Adult Home Share leadership team in the planning, consultation and implementation of various projects and initiatives within the service area.



Responsibilities:

Completes License Pre-checks for all Home Share Provider homes prior to Licensing Review. Follows up with any conditional requirements on licensing annual reviews. Provides direct supervision to staff, managing performance and areas of development. Supports staff team administratively, including developing staff schedules, tracking scheduled hours, and remitting hours. Documents performance management issues and collaborates with Human Resources on the management of on-going performance concerns. Conducts ongoing performance discussions with direct reports, in accordance with New Directions guidelines. Assists with orientation and ongoing development of direct reports. Collects, audits, and monitors cash and bank transaction sheets for supported persons (who are not independent financially). Coordinates and facilitates Financial Care Plans, following up on financial goals as required. Scheduled leadership team rotation and for service area emergencies/crisis response. Requires occasional visits within the community to sites in Winnipeg and eastern Manitoba.


Requirements:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the adult disability services sector (or related field). Post-secondary education (diploma) in Disability & Community Support from a recognized post-secondary institution. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of the Residential Care Licensing rules and regulations. Previous supervisory experience, while maintaining the ability to work independently on projects and independent tasks. A demonstrated awareness and appreciation of diverse cultures and traditions. Demonstrated organization and time management skills, with an attention to detail with record keeping and administrative tasks. Proven ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint and SharePoint. Fluency in American Sign Language is considered an asset. (Commitment to continue learning ASL required) Requires a valid Manitoba Class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle.


The salary range for this 70-hour bi-weekly position is $23.63 to $30.71 per hour, depending on education and/or experience. This position is eligible for a full benefits package (which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan).



The successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record Check, Adult/Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Check and must supply a current driver's safety rating.
